Central Australia is an incredible place. Today we walked through the amazing Kings Canyon and soaked in the sights and sounds of the gorges, the many different rock formations and the creek. It was awesome! We had a late lunch at Kings Creek Station which has a great story to it and the owners have great hearts working with the local Aboriginal people living there. The fuel however, was the dearest we've seen so far at 242c/litre!!!
We enjoyed a few close-ups of Wedge Tail Eagles on the roadsides today on the way to our next freecamp stop and watching the amazing moon again once we stopped. An easy day tomorrow relaxing at the freecamp after some big days, drives and walks around the rocks and canyon in the past few days.
One last stop on out way back to Alice Springs on Friday to check out the Meteorite Crators near Finke River. They were pretty interesting to see, but we had to brave about 15km of badly corregated dirt road to get to them! Well done Captain Slow! Hardly any movement inside the van! Unfortunately Dinky the singing dingo at Stuarts Well Roadhouse was in town for the day, so we missed seeing him do his thing. The roadhouse is worth stopping at though with quite a bit of stuff to check out including the Camel Farm nextdoor.
