Monday 9th April to Saturday 14th April 2012. Townsville.

After a big Easter Weekend celebrating our birthdays and camping with some great families we got to know a little, we had to say goodbye to some, including Nanny and Poppy, which was hard. We had such a lovely time and our kids had become close to some other kids who had been on camp too, who they now had to say goodbye to. Brie particularly finds this hard, and takes time to reajust, but we get there. Our campsite here was lovely, right beside the Ross River where we kayaked and swam in, scooted and played beside with the other families.

On Monday, our beautiful new niece and cousin, Nyam Reasha Leslie, was born in Townsville (on our wedding anniversary) and after a scary day of birth complications and mum needing surgery, everything was okay by evening, and we thanked God for the safe arrival of Nyam. We were able to visit on Wednesday for the first time and got lots of precious cuddle time with little Nyam. Dwaynes parents and Aunty Nikki and cousin Josh all came down on Thursday for cuddles with Nyam, so we spent another afternoon with them.

On Friday we spent a great day at Reef HQ revisiting the reef we got to see on Green Island plus a lot more (and without the sea sickness!) and all for free thanks to some reles with a member card! We also got to visit the Turtle Hospital there and were able to say hi to a green turtle, a hawksbill turtle and a giant loggerhead turtle really close up which was pretty special!

Saturday was spent at the Strand on the beach where there is a large waterpark to play in during stinger season while the ocean is out of bounds. The kids had lots of fun there. We also said our final goodbyes to baby Nyam and family and went for a look at Castle Hill. We leave the 'big smoke' tomorrow for the west, a big change for us as we have hugged the East Coast and spent a lot of time in water over the last 3 months! The journey continues...
